Ministry of Commerce and Industry MoCI

The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) has launched BHARATI — Bharat’s Hub for Agritech, Resilience, Advancement and Incubation for Export Enablement — a flagship initiative aimed at empowering 100 agri-food and agri-tech startups. The pilot cohort, commencing September 2025, will support innovators across domains such as GI-tagged products, organic foods, AYUSH products, superfoods, and smart technologies like AI-based quality control, blockchain traceability, IoT-enabled cold chains, agri-fintech, sustainable packaging, and sea protocols.

BHARATI is strategically aligned with India's targets of achieving USD 50 billion in agri-food exports by 2030. The initiative features a three-month acceleration programme emphasizing product innovation, export readiness, regulatory compliance, and market access. It will also leverage partnerships with state agriculture boards, agricultural universities, IITs/NITs, industry bodies, and accelerators. Designed as a scalable annual model, BHARATI supports India’s broader agenda of Atmanirbhar Bharat, Vocal for Local, Digital India, and Start-Up India.
