At the International Conference on Space 2025, Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh unveiled India's transformative roadmap for its space sector. Highlighted milestones include launching a Bharatiya Space Station by 2035 and landing the first Indian astronaut on the Moon by 2040. Building on Chandrayaan-3’s success and human spaceflight programs like Gaganyaan, the strategy underscores expanding human capital, with over 300 startups active in launch, satellite, and ground technologies. The roadmap stressed that space technologies must empower everyday life, improving service delivery in agriculture, healthcare, education, governance, and urban planning.
Dr. Singh also reaffirmed India’s commitment to international partnerships via missions like India–US NISAR and Chandrayaan-5 with Japan, while nurturing R&D through academic and institutional collaboration.
