SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth | SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure

Ministry of Finance MoF

The Department of Financial Services (DFS), Ministry of Finance, organised PSB Manthan 2025 in Gurugram on 12-13 September. Public Sector Bank (PSB) leadership, regulators, industry experts, academicians, and technology practitioners gathered to map a growth trajectory for PSBs beyond recovery and stability. Deliberations covered themes including customer experience, governance, innovation, credit growth, risk management, workforce readiness, and technology modernization. Key takeaways include the need for PSBs to adopt next-generation technologies, strengthen AI & cybersecurity frameworks, build shared infrastructure, tailor products to diverse needs, deepen MSME and green sector financing, and evolve into globally competitive institutions.

By clearly repositioning PSBs as engines for inclusive growth and competitiveness, the Manthan conference aligns them with national priorities like Renewable Energy, Digital India, and Viksit Bharat 2047. Stronger governance, customer-centric reforms, and technology adoption will be essential to build trust, reduce inefficiencies, and enable PSBs to support emerging sectors.
