Semicon India 2025: India Unveils Indigenous RISC-V SoC Generator Platform

SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure | SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals

Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology MeitY

The Ministry of Electronics and IT has released a roadmap for indigenous System-on-Chip (SoC) solutions during Semicon India 2025. The roadmap includes applications in broadband, surveillance, smart energy meters, motor control, and space.

A key element is the development of a RISC-V based SoC generator platform, advancing chip design automation. This effort is supported by the Design Linked Incentive Scheme, under which 23 chip-design projects have been sanctioned and 72 companies have gained access to industry-grade Electronic Design Automation tools.
