US: Tech, Non-Profits Pledge Major AI Education Investments

SDG 4: Quality Education | SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth

Ministry of Education MoE | Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology MeitY

At a White House event, the U.S. Task Force on AI Education unveiled new corporate and educational partnerships to advance AI literacy among K–12 students. Google committed to providing every American high school with free access to its Gemini for Education suite and pledged $150 million in AI education grants over three years. Code.org plans to engage 25 million learners through "Hour of AI" sessions and launch an AI foundational course for 400,000 students annually by 2028. IBM will train 2 million learners through its SkillsBuild program by 2028. These pledges strengthen public-private collaboration following an Executive Order aimed at building an AI-ready generation.

Relevant question for policy stakeholders: How can India foster similar multi-sectoral commitments to advance AI education among its youth, blending innovation, curriculum development, and digital equity?
