TPCR-2025 Charts 15-Year Roadmap for Futuristic Defence Capabilities

SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure | SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions

Ministry of Defence MoD

The Ministry of Defence has released the Technology Perspective and Capability Roadmap (TPCR) 2025, outlining the Armed Forces’ projected technology and capability requirements through the mid-2030s. Serving as a guidance document for industry, TPCR-2025 identifies priority domains across land, maritime, air, and joint forces—including advanced armoured platforms, unmanned aerial systems, cyber and electronic warfare tools, satellite applications, and AI-enabled decision support.

Unlike earlier editions (2013, 2018), this roadmap stresses self-reliance (Atmanirbharta) from concept to production, with industry urged to align with Make-in-India, iDEX, TDF, and Srijan initiatives. The document highlights technologies such as future-ready combat vehicles with human-machine teaming, stealth UAVs, integrated surveillance and targeting systems, adaptive stealth for vehicles, mine warfare automation, and modular next-gen naval platforms. Its structured disclosures aim to help private industry, MSMEs, and R&D partners plan production lines and collaborations in sync with defence procurement cycles.
